About Us
Based in Las Cruces, NM, Las Cruces Moving & Storage opened its doors in 1962. Las Cruces Moving & Storage owner, James Doss’ father, Jim, purchased the company in 1976 and sold it to James and his wife, Elizabeth, in 1987.
Our History
I have been involved with the moving business for about as long as I can remember,” James said. “My wife married into the business and our three young adults—Jim, Mitch and Kristi—were raised in the business. I’m super-proud of these kids. They have persevered and grown in a business that can be very challenging and they have no fear of hard work.”
Jim is the company’s general manager while his younger brother Mitch Doss is a driver and field manager. Daughter Kristi keeps the office running smoothly.
“The Doss family takes an old-school work ethic and places it in a modern-day setting,” National Van Lines Executive VP Mark Doyle said. “We like the values the Las Cruces M&S team brings to the table.”
In addition to covering key geographic points within New Mexico, Las Cruces Moving and Storage enjoys a marketplace reach that stretches across the New Mexico-Texas border to include El Paso, TX.
“We have set our goals on becoming the go-to moving company for our state and the greater region,” he said. “We intend to do that by providing timely, reliable, ethical and quality moving and storage services for each of our customers and for our partners.
